Sharing music is right up there with writing and performing it in my book. So I figured I’d share of few great mellow songs that have been in HEAVY rotation on my iPod.
I put these in my “Mental Massage” playlist and each one of these is great for kicking back and relaxing with.
Check them out!
Brent Dennon – “Only Rain”
Great message for those who just got dumped or are going through a break up of some sort. Might help take the edge off for a little bit anyway. And is it just me or can you hear a tinge of Tom Petty in there.
Like you I am a huge fan of good music. I am always looking to find and share whatever I find with you anytime I can.
Today, aside from authoring a headline longer than 3 freight trains, I wanted to profile a few of the world class singer-songwriters that I have the honor of supporting next Wednesday night (Sept. 21st) at the Mayo Civic in Rochester, MN: Sally Barris, Jon Vezner and Brandon Sampson.
Here are a few facts and some video from each of these artists. Enjoy!
Notes:To add a little twist to our usually good timin show, Doc and I will be joined by Twin Cities singer/songwriter MJ Kroll. This show is FREE and open to everyone. Don’t miss it! Stop down!
About a month ago I was at a music conference in Las Vegas and I met some very talented musicians from all over the country. One of the artists i met was MJ Kroll, who – lucky for us – just happens to be from the Twin Cities.
She is extremely down to earth, is a very talented songwriter and, from what she tells me, like to tip a few back from time to time (so she’ll fit in real nice with our crowd).
Anyway, I thought it would be pretty cool to invite her down to Winona to share her music with you and give you a little taste of something different. So on July 17th she will be performing with Doc and I at the Westfield Lounge (show starts a 7:30 pm).
In the meantime, check out her video for her song called “Resonate.” After watching that, stop over and grab a free download at her site, www.MJKroll.com. See you there!
"Corey makes you feel like you’ve been friends for years as he shares stories and sings songs from an extensive playlist that covers various artists and his own compositions." — Sarah Severson , La Crescent Applefest 2010 Official Website

"Never Too Late is a kind of ‘every man’ record for the hard-working Joes who know that all you need to enjoy life is a good beer and the love of a good woman. Great words to live by. The album is also touching for its sincerity because of Corey’s ability to make the listener comfortable, whether it be from his asides or his laid back nature." — Felicia Ceballos-Marroquin, RecordSpeak

"I listened to both versions of your song "How to Change the World" and was very pleasantly surprised. The recording is quite well done, and tha main thing I look for in any kind of music is passion in the vocals and lyrics. "You want to change the world, you can't stand by" is something I would personally agree with. I think you should be promoting this song more - it's strong." - Steve Moore from Canadian rock band The Unravelling
