Can you imagine being in the biggest band in the world but being so depressed that your friends are breaking into your house to steal and hiding your shotgun because they are so afraid of the state that you are in?

Or can you imagine being a music star finishing the show off the greatest show of your life only to be arrested suddenly and hauled off to prison for an indefinite amount of time?

Ok, one more. Imagine finding someone, that you know is allergic to peanuts, lying dead on the floor with a mouth full of them?

Those are just a few of the predicaments some of the characters from the following books that I’ve recently read found themselves in.

And if you like to read like me, I think you will like the following books.

I am sort of a music geek and a Guns N’ Roses fan from back in the day so this is a great read simply for those reasons. Regardless it is a great story that I think anyone would enjoy reading. The whole behind the scenes rags to riches element was interesting. Also,  Duff was full blown hardcore-party-like-a-rockstar alchoholic drug addict and nearly died a few times but he turned it around in a big way. Even to the point where he is now a collage graduate.

Wasn’t sure what to expect but the reviews in combination with the price made it worth a shot and it delivered. A little bit of prison life mixed with some music.

Not much on the music front but a great book nonetheless.  This is a mystery that I could not put down. Many twists and turns and great characters that you can’t help but wonder how they will handle this or that.  I don’t want to say much more or I might give something away.

If you read them or plan to, let me know. I’d love to hear your thoughts.

By the way, if you are wondering why this singer-songwriter guy is recommending books, its because I love to read and share stuff. Plus, being a late bloomer in the reading department (never read a book all the way through until I was in my 30’s) and want to encourage people to read so they aren’t missing out.

And be on the look out for my new song “See You Smile” coming out this Monday October 1st.

Pssst… My “One Song A Month Indefinitely” plan is in full swing which means I will be releasing new music the first Monday of every month.

Enter your name and email below because then you will be one of the very first to hear my new music (Plus I’ll send you two free songs right now).

“Its funny I wait all month to see what you’ve come up with, and then I give it a listen and suddenly I want more!! Yeah :)” – Jim J.
